
Vanderbilt football went into Neyland Stadium and left with an emphatic win and playoff resume booster over Tennessee. The Commodores and Vols were tied at 21 at the half, but VU hammered UT in the second stanza, winning 45-24.
Afterward, Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea and players, including quarterback Diego Pavia, met with the media to give their thoughts on the game and playoff implications. The Commodores now sit at 10-2 (6-2 SEC), but just outside the playoff picture heading into the weekend.
Pavia also bolstered his Heisman Trophy chances by completing 18-of-28 passes for 268 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He ran for 165 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, as well.
