With Florida’s comfortable win over Florida State on Saturday, it rounded out the Gators’ 2025 regular season. That also meant it was curtains on the six-year career for quarterback Harrison Bailey. Now, the former Tennessee football signal caller is seemingly planning to become a coach.

On Bailey’s X account, he announced the news. The post was published on Sunday night, a day following the final game of his college career.

“Time to be a ball coach,” Bailey posted with a football emoji.

Bailey was a highly sought-after recruit out of Marietta, Georgia. He ranked as a four-star, the No. 66 player in the country and No. 4 quarterback in the 2020 class by Rivals Industry. He ultimately committed and signed for Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee team.

In 2020, Bailey played in six games and started in three. He went 1-2 as the starter, posting 578 passing yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. With Pruitt fired after the 3-7 season, Bailey stuck around through the coaching change to Josh Heupel.

However, in 2021, it was Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton III starting each game, leaving Bailey with one appearance in which he completed 3-of-7 passes for 16 yards and a rushing touchdown. Following the season, he transferred to UNLV, where he produced 318 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception in six appearances and no starts.

In 2023 and 2024, Bailey played at Louisville. He played in five games and made one start in that span. His lone start was in the Sun Bowl after starter Tyler Shough opted out. He threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns and was named MVP of the game.

For his final year, Bailey transferred to Florida. He did not play in any games and was considered the third-string option.
