Tomorrow, the early signing period begins for the 2026 class. As Tennessee football puts a bow on that cycle, it’ll begin to fully turn its attention to 2027, which it has already gotten off to a strong start on the recruiting trail in.

One of the targets to keep in mind is offensive lineman Qua Ford. The four-star listed the Vols alongside Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M and SMU as his final five, according to Hayes Fawcett.

Ford is considered the No. 81 recruit in the country on Rivals Industry. He is the No. 4 interior offensive lineman and No. 11 player out of Texas. He currently plays for Texas High in Texarkana, Texas.

Ford currently plays tackle for his high school, but some are projecting him to move inside to guard or center at the next level. He stands at 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds during his junior year of high school.

As a sophomore, Ford was named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-America second-team selection on the offensive line. At left tackle, his team went 12-1 and made a Texas 5A D-I third-round playoff appearance.

Tennessee currently holds four commitments in the 2027 cycle. This includes one offensive lineman, in-state recruit Princeton Uwaifo. The four-star is the No. 110 recruit in the country, via 247.

As a class, the 2027 group sits at No. 11 in the country, via 247. Other commitments include three-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife, three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and three-star linebacker JP Peace. The Vols are in the mix for countless other top prospects, though, and are considered to be in a strong spot heading into the new year.
