Four-star wide receiver Tyreek King will bring his trademark speed and athleticism to the Tennessee Football roster after officially putting pen to paper on early signing day on Wednesday. The 5-foot-10.5 prospect from Knoxville Catholic High School is one of the most exciting prospects in Tennessee’s class and looks prepared to be a great fit for Josh Heupel’s offense.
King won’t have to go far away from home when he steps on the field at Neyland Stadium. In fact, it’s just 12 miles that separates his high school from Neyland Stadium on the edge of the Tennessee River.
“It means a lot,” King said about signing with the Vols in an interview with 5Star Preps on Wednesday. “It’s a dream come true. It just means a lot, for sure.”
King has been a Tennessee commit for quite some time now. He originally announced his commitment on Oct. 31, 2024, choosing the Vols over Alabama, Auburn, and Michigan. Since then, Tennessee has pulled commitments and signatures from other high-level offensive skill players, including five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys from Hattiesburg, MS. King believes that the Vols’ stacked 2026 class can make some noise in the near future.
“We can achieve a lot,” King said in the interview about what this signing class can bring to the table for Tennessee. “They’ve got good receivers there, but I feel like the freshmen coming in, we’ve got a great chance of coming in and making an impact. A big impact, of course.”

According to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, King is listed as the No. 108 player in the class, the No. 15 wide receiver in the nation, and the No. 5 player from the state of Tennessee. He’s been an elite player at the high school level, and there’s little reason to believe that he won’t be able to translate that to an SEC field with the Volunteers.
“An elite athlete in the combine setting with long speed and explosion,” On3 Sports’ Charles Power wrote about King in an August evaluation. “Carries that athleticism over to the field, where he is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Flashes high-end burst off the line of scrimmage. Easily stacks corners in man coverage. A loose mover with considerable shake within his routes, effortlessly shifting gears. One of the better deep ball threats in the 2026 cycle. Can take the top off of defenses and demands safety attention.”
King was one of 21 players to officially sign with Tennessee before Noon ET on Wednesday. The Vols are still waiting on a few more signatures, but the class is certainly starting to come into form as the early signing period continues on.
