Tennessee football has officially landed one of the best linemen in the 2026 class. Five-star Gabriel Osenda signed with the Vols on Wednesday, the opening day of the early signing period.

Osenda is considered the No. 24 prospect in the class by 247. He is the No. 5 offensive tackle and No. 2 player out of the state of Tennessee in the cycle. He plays for Baylor School in Chattanooga. However, Osenda was born in Canada.

Osenda was one of the first players in the class to commit to the Vols. He joined back in January at the Navy All-American Bowl. Since then, he hasn’t wavered from his pledge. Instead, he’s only visited Tennessee for game day trips, including one as recently as November 15.

Andrew Ivins of 247 gave a comparison to Aireontae Ersery of the Houston Texans. He went to Minnesota and ended up as a recent second-round draft pick.

“Giant boulder-like tackle with devastating power in the run game that can also clamp down in pass protection,” Ivins wrote.
“Clears traffic with his initial surge as he angles off defenders and generates plenty of movement with a burly upper half. Tall and naturally upright athlete, but one that works to establish leverages as he looks to forklift assignments with his sustained effort. Tends to absorb contact in pass sets, but is quick to flip the switch and weaponize his length on the corner as he finds his footing and times his strikes.”

Osenda is one of three five-star recruits that Tennessee has committed this cycle. He is the first player in the entire class to sign, meaning the Vols are still waiting on receiving the signatures of quarterback Faizon Brandon and wide receiver Tristen Keys.

For full signing day coverage, here’s everything you need to know. Josh Heupel will also speak with the media to give his thoughts on the class this afternoon.
