
On Wednesday night, Lady Vols basketball went down to the wire with Stanford. Despite a late tie, Talaysia Cooper made a clutch basket at the rim to put Tennessee in front, leading to a 65-62 win.
After the game, Lady Vols head coach Kim Caldwell and guard Talaysia Cooper met with the media. They were asked about Cooper’s night, the tradition of the matchup and more.
Cooper finished with 19 points and 10 steals for a double-double. She also contributed six assists, two rebounds and a block in the win. Her 30 minutes on the floor led the team.
Now, Tennessee sits at 6-2 on the season. The Lady Vols were in danger of dropping all three of their marquee matchups to start the year, but earned the strong win over the Cardinal to head into the final stretch of the out-of-conference slate with some regained confidence.
