Tennessee football has officially signed every committed piece to its 2026 class. Now, along with the upcoming transfer portal, Josh Heupel and company are looking to the 2027 recruiting class.

One target that the Vols stay in the mix for is long-time three-star linebacker Braylon Williams. Linebackers coach William Inge offered him back in September of 2024. Since then, UT has continued to make the cut as he’s whittled down his options.

Now, Williams is down to 10 schools. He’s looking at Tennessee, Michigan, Nebraska, SMU, Texas Tech, Penn State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M.

Williams is ranked as a three-star recruit, according to 247. However, he was previously graded as a four-star before a ranking refresh. 247 Composite has him as the No. 428 player in the country, No. 34 linebacker and No. 59 player from Texas. He plays for Arlington Lamar in Arlington, Texas.

The next step for Tennessee is to get Williams to campus for more in-depth views of the program. So far, Inge and the staff have left a positive impression, though.

“I like the culture and I love the people and facilities,” Williams previously told RTI.

Tennessee currently holds four commitments in the 2027 cycle. This includes one four-star, in-state recruit, Princeton Uwaifo. The offensive lineman is the No. 110 recruit in the country, via 247.

As a class, the 2027 group sits at No. 11 in the country, via 247. Other commitments include three-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife, three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and three-star linebacker JP Peace. The Vols are in the mix for countless other top prospects, though, and are considered to be in a strong spot heading into the new year.
