The internet has been abuzz over the last two days with a video that captures the spirit and soul of what it means to be raised in an SEC family behind enemy lines. The video, which has garnered more than 4.6 million views on one Twitter post alone, shows a young boy refusing to sing Rocky Top at his school’s Christmas choir concert on Tuesday night.

According to On3 Sports’ Chris Low, the young boy is named Nolan McGill and currently attends Rivermont Elementary School in Chattanooga, TN. Despite the entire choir around McGill proudly singing the words to the Tennessee Volunteers’ fight song, McGill stands defiant with his mouth closed and his arms folded.

The video has gotten the attention of fans, media members, and even Georgia head coach Kirby Smart.

“We are currently fundraising to put a statue of him up near the stadium,” Smart jokingly said to the media on Friday. “If it doesn’t cut into our NIL budget too much, we may get it up before we play Tennessee in two years.”

The SEC’s famous motto is “It Just Means More.” And in this case, that’s exactly what’s happening. It’s also the perfect representation of living behind enemy lines while standing your ground daily.

As Smart mentioned, it’ll be a little while before border rivals Tennessee and Georgia square off on the gridiron again. The two aren’t annual rivals in the new SEC scheduling format, and aren’t on each other’s 2026 schedule. Tennessee will play in Athens in 2027 and will host the Bulldogs in 2029.
