
David Gabriel Georges, the top prep prospect in the Volunteer State, released his top eight including Tennessee football on Monday evening. The Vols joined Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Texas in Gabriel George’s top group.
A junior at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Gabriel Georges is one of Tennessee’s top targets in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
Gabriel Georges ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 13 player in the 2027 class according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot, 205-pound prospect ranks as the No. 2 running back in his class.
The standout running back dominated opponents during the 2025 season, helping lead Baylor to a 12-0 record and Division II-AAA State Championship while winning the classification’s Mr. Football Award. Gabriel Georges turned in his best performance of the season against rival McCallie in the semifinals, rushing for 431 yards and seven touchdowns on 32 carries.
Gabriel Georges frequently put up massive numbers in his junior season, finishing the year with 1,756 rushing yards and 27 total touchdowns.

Tennessee is one of the top contenders to land the five-star recruit. Gabriel Georges visited Tennessee twice this fall, taking in the Vols’ matchups against Arkansas and Oklahoma at Neyland Stadium. He also made the trip to Knoxville twice last spring including for the 865 Live recruiting weekend.
Gabriel Georges has also taken two visits to Georgia and Ohio State over the last year. Both powers are viewed as serious contenders to land the blue-chip running back. The Vols and Buckeyes are currently seen as the top contenders for the running back.
Josh Heupel, Peyton Manning and Tony Vitello all watched Gabriel Georges play this season. Manning’s son Marshall is an eighth grader at the Baylor School.
Tennessee football’s 2027 recruiting class currently contains four commitments including from four-star offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, four-star defensive line Kadin Fife, three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and three-star linebacker JP Peace.
The Vols’ four-commit recruiting class currently ranks 13th nationally and No. 5 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
