Tonight, Tennessee football will meet Illinois inside Nissan Stadiumin Nashville for the Music City Bowl. Ahead of the game, the Vols have released their team captains, which it names on a game-by-game basis.

This time, it was five captains instead of the typical four that Tennessee uses. Each were seniors, with quarterback Joey Aguilar, defensive lineman Dominic Bailey, tight end Miles Kitselman, defensive back Jalen McMurray and defensive back William Wright getting the nods.

This is the second time Aguilar has been named a captain this season. Joining in the spring transfer window, Aguilar recorded 3,444 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on the season.

Bailey is in his sixth college season and spent each in Knoxville. He has been a key piece of the defense, playing both defensive end and sliding in to defensive tackle early in the year to help with a thin room after injuries.

Kitselman is in his second season with the Vols after transferring in from Alabama. He has been the starting tight end, but missed the final two games of the regular season with an injury. It appears he may be able to get back on the field for the bowl game, though.

McMurray is also in his second season as a transfer from Temple. He has been the starting nickelback this season, playing the STAR position.

Wright has been a rotational cornerback this year for the Vols. However, he’s been a key piece of the special teams units, where he’s made his biggest mark.
