After signing a consensus top-10 class in the 2026 cycle, Tennessee football and Josh Heupel are on the hunt to follow it up with a strong 2027 class. One of the top-ranked targets on the board is offensive tackle Caden Moss.
Moss, a five-star recruit, has the Vols in the mix alongside Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Ohio State, Auburn and Florida at this point, according to a report from Rivals. It appears the Crimson Tide is in the lead, though.
Moss, from Jackson, Mississippi, ranks as the No. 15 player in the class, via 247 Composite rankings. He is the No. 4 offensive tackle and top player from the state.
Out of Jackson Academy, Tennessee may have a unique advantage in his recruitment, though. The Vols hold the signing of four-star linebacker TJ White and four-star defensive tackle Dereon Albert, both of whom played at the school with Moss last season.

Moss made his way to see the Vols twice this past season. He was on campus for Tennessee’s losses to Georgia and Oklahoma. Despite the losses, recruits have raved about the experience at both of those games, though.
He picked up his offer from UT back in May of 2024. This made Tennessee one of the first schools in the mix for the talented tackle as it looks to build up the offensive line under Heupel and position coach Glen Elarbee.
The Vols currently hold four commitments in the 2027 cycle. This is headlined by in-state offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He ranks as the No. 110 player in the country and holds four-star status, via 247.
Three-star commitments in the boat so far include defensive lineman Kadin Fife, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and linebacker JP Peace. The group ranks as the No. 13 class in the country on 247.
