When Tennessee football heads west to play at Arkansas next season, the Vols will see a familiar face on the opposing sideline. Former starting UT defensive back Christian Harrison has committed to the Razorbacks out of the transfer portal. He was at Cincinnati last season before re-entering the portal and finding his way back to the SEC.

Harrison is expected to be entering his final season of eligibility. He just finished his redshirt-junior campaign. His matchup with his former school, Tennessee, is scheduled for Oct. 10. There is no kickoff time determined yet. Arkansas will be led by first-year Head Hog Ryan Silverfield after the firing of Sam Pittman, as well.

Harrison recorded 66 tackles, with 40 coming as solo efforts, along with 7 passes deflected, an interception and 2.5 tackles for loss this past season. Cincinnati finished this season 7-5 (5-4 Big 12) after beginning the year 7-1 and ranked as high as No. 17 in the country.

Harrison played in all 12 games and started each at safety. In a total of 685 snaps, he earned a PFF grade of 68.8 on the season.

Prior to departing from Tennessee, Harrison was a piece of the Vols’ vaunted 2024 defense. He split snaps with Boo Carter at STAR, starting in four games before Carter took over the duties. Now, Carter is also in the transfer portal after a messy divorce with the Vols in his sophomore year.

Harrison managed 20 tackles in 2024, including one pass defended and half a sack. In 2023, he had two tackles. As a true freshman in 2022, he posted nine tackles.

He is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Rodney Harrison, as well.
