With more than 1,000 players entering the portal in the first four days that it’s been open, the transfer scene across the college football landscape is running wild. Players all across the country are doing their best to find new opportunities with the time they have remaining in the sport, while teams are looking to either patch holes or rebuild their rosters with players who already have experience in and around the game at the collegiate level.

Tennessee, like any other school in the nation, has seen several departures from its 2025 roster. It includes starters, contributors, and backups alike, such as offensive tackle Lance Heard, safety Boo Carter, and cornerback Marcus Goree Jr.

247Sports has a massive ranking list for the players who have entered the portal so far. But with the sheer number of players in the portal and the speed at which they’re entering, it’s hard to keep up and properly rank every single transfer player on a real-time basis. Many of Tennessee’s players do have a portal ranking and rating, but there are a handful of players who are still waiting for one. For example, a few of Tennessee’s players, such as CB Rickey Gibson III, OT Bennett Warren, and K Max Gilber,t do not have portal rankings at the time of this publication.

Starting offensive tackle Lance Heard is Tennessee’s highest-rated departure in the portal with a Top 20 ranking. He will clearly be a coveted prospect for any team looking to add an experienced offensive line. Safety Boo Carter, who parted ways with the team back in November, is UT’s second highest-rated departure with a Top 50 overall ranking.
