Tennessee football is in need of a new starting quarterback for 2026 with Joey Aguilar out of eligibility by the current rules and no firm decision made about his fight to gain a year made. In that effort, the Vols just finished hosting prized Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt.
Now, Josh Heupel and Tennessee are reportedly preparing for another signal caller to make his way to campus. According to Matt Zenitz, former Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula will visit Knoxville.
In his first season with the Tigers, Pribula was the team’s starting quarterback. He appeared in 10 games, missing a pair due to injury, starting in each. On the year, he produced 1,914 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also ran for 297 yards and six scores.
Before heading to Missouri, Pribula played at Penn State under James Franklin. Though the pair wouldn’t have worked hand-in-hand anyway, there is no overlap with new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles in Happy Valley.

Pribula was never the full-time starter for the Nittany Lions, but was able to total 424 passing yards, nine touchdowns, just one pick and 10 rushing scores from 2023-24. He was also on the team in 2022, but saw no action and earned a redshirt.
This gives Pribula one final year of eligibility remaining. This would line up with a projected timeline of a bridge signal caller for the Vols before handing the keys over to either George MacIntyre or Faizon Brandon after one season.
UT will have to fend off a few other suitors for Pribula, though. Washington and Georgia Tech seem to be the biggest contenders at the moment with Nebraska already finding its quarterback in Anthony Colandrea.
If Tennessee would rather go the route of Leavitt, it’d be a lot more expensive, but he is much more proven. He is about to take a visit to Miami, with Oregon another school reportedly in the mix.
