Tennessee football is going to see a good amount of familiar faces when it squares off with Auburn next season. Of course, coached by former Vols offensive coordinator under Josh Heupel, Alex Golesh, there are multiple key pieces of the staff and former UT players on The Plains.
Another recent addition to the Tigers is a name that might ring a bell for Tennessee fans. Shamar Arnoux, a former Vols cornerback commit, has transferred from Florida State to Auburn after one season with the Seminoles, according to On3.
Arnoux committed to Tennessee in April of 2023 as a part of the recent 2025 class. However, on Feburary 3, 2024, he decommitted from UT. After a string of official visits, he committed to USC in late June. Then, in November, he decommitted and flipped to Auburn.
After all of that, on signing day, Arnoux flipped to Florida State on early signing day and officially joined the Seminoles. He was a four-star recruit, according to 247 Composite, and ranked as the No. 430 player in the country out of high school.

As a true freshman with Florida State, Arnoux recorded 27 tackles and one pass defended. He played a total of 345 snaps on the year over the course of 11 games. He started in four appearances, including the final three games of the year at corner.
PFF gave Arnoux a 59.5 grade on the season for his efforts. His best mark was as a tackler at 68.5, while his worst was as a pass rusher at 52.8.
Now, with three years of eligibility remaining, he joins Golesh and his Auburn staff, which features Tim Banks as the safeties coach. Banks was the defensive coordinator who recruited Arnoux to Tennessee before his decommitment.
Tennessee and Auburn will meet inside Neyland Stadium on Oct. 3, 2026. This will be the second SEC game of the season for the Vols after opening up the slate with Texas the week prior.
