The overwhelming majority of the class of 2026 recruits signed with their college of choice in early December. However, there are still some prospects that remain uncommitted with off-season lifts right around the corner.
In the case of Tennessee football, it just picked up a late commitment from a local prospect. Out of Knoxville Catholic, interior offensive lineman Jeremy George-El has committed on a full offer. The Vols extended him the opportunity of a scholarship on Jan. 17, and just days later, he pulled the trigger to join his hometown school.
George-El has had the opportunity to join as a preferred walk-on since Oct. 28, 2025. Other schools to extend him an offer include MTSU, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Chattanooga, Mercer and more. Syracuse, Michigan State and Virginia Tech were also in contact with him.
The interior lineman is listed at 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, via 247.

George-El has taken the short trip to Tennessee for visits multiple times in the recruiting process. This includes as recently as a game day visit on Sept. 20 of this past season to see the Vols play UAB. He also camped in June of 2025.
He is now the 28th commitment in the 2026 class for Tennessee, with 27 signing in the early signing period. This was headlined by a trio of five-star prospects, quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver TK Keys and offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda. The group ranks fifth in the country on 247.
Other offensive linemen in the class to join George-El and Osenda are four-star Kamari Blair and three-star Edward Barker.
The Vols have also brought in 18 commitments through the transfer portal so far, with more targets still on the board. On the offensive line, this includes interior lineman Donovan Haslam from West Virginia and tackle Ory Williams from LSU.
