Tennessee guard Troy Henderson is out for the Vols’ matchup against Georgia according to the SEC injury report. It’s the second straight game that Henderson is missing with a left shoulder injury he suffered last week in practice. He’s day-to-day moving forward.
The 6-foot-1 guard has had an ever changing role during his freshman season, averaging 2.5 points and 1.6 assists in 15 games played. However, Henderson’s role has increased in recent games as he’s grabbed the reigns of Tennessee’s backup point guard position from Ethan Burg.
With Henderson out against Alabama, Burg re-assumed backup point guard duties but played just one minute after turning the ball over and missing a jump shot in his short stint in the game. Burg’s struggles forced Ja’Kobi Gillespie to play 38 minutes against the Crimson Tide.
Bishop Boswell could also slide over to point guard and assume some of those duties when Tennessee gives Gillespie a quick blow. That was the case during a short rest in the second half.
