Lady Vols basketball showed early fight and responded to a 16-point first-quarter deficit by going on a run to tie the game at the half. However, UConn surged in the second half to leave Tennessee in the dust.
The result was a 96-66 loss for the Lady Vols. After the game, Tennessee head coach Kim Caldwell and forward Janiah Barker met with the media to give their thoughts on what transpired. They were asked about what went well early, what went wrong late, what the next step is and more.
Barker finished the game as the team’s leading scorer, dropping 16 points on 6-for-14 shots from the field and 3-for-8 on 3-pointers. She also added two rebounds, two assists and two steals. In 27 minutes of play, she was a -3 plus/minus.
