What Tennessee AHC Justin Gainey Said About The Rebels

On what stands out about Ole Miss

“They’re playing a lot of guys, and a lot of guys have been productive for them. They have Storr, who is a high-level scorer. They got shooting. They can kind of attack you in a lot of different ways. And so us just be prepared to, one, do what we do. But also be ready to make adjustments as we need to because they’ve had success in different ways, and they’ve been in some games where they, it didn’t come out in their favor, but, man, they were right there to win.

So it’s a good team. It’s a well-coached team. Coach Beard’s a great coach, and we expect for them to come out and be a really good one.”

Prediction

Tennessee is playing well. Ole Miss has been on a bit of a skid despite turning in a solid performance in a loss at Vanderbilt earlier this week. At home, there’s a lot to like for Tennessee in this matchup.

The Rebels have been one of the SEC’s worst teams on the glass this season. Tennessee should be able to control this game inside, dominating in rebounding and with interior scoring. If the Vols do a solid job taking care of the basketball, it is hard to find a path to them losing.

Both teams play at a slow tempo which could lead to it being a lower scoring game where Tennessee struggles to blow them out. Still, I like the Vols to handle their business with ease.

Tennessee 76, Ole Miss 61
