Tennessee football didn’t land a running back in the 2026 class, but is toward the top of the list for multiple highly-touted prospects in the 2027 cycle. This includes Tyson Robinson, one of the best players in the class, regardless of position.

Now, Robinson is in the process of locking in official visits. On Monday, Rivals reported that he had scheduled four. This included the Vols, along with Miami, Arizona State and Michigan.

Robinson is considered the No. 3 running back in the class on Rivals. The site also considers him the No. 43 overall player in the country. He is from Jackson, Mississippi, where he plays for Brandon.

This won’t be the first time Robinson has made his way to Knoxville, either. He has previously checked out Tennessee at least seven times, according to 247, the most of any school in the country. This includes as recently as a game day visit on Nov. 1, 2025. His first visit was back in June of 2024.

Robinson picked up his Vols offer back in March of 2024. Tennessee was one of the first teams in the mix for him, and it seems to be paying off.

Tennessee already holds four commitments in the 2027 class. This includes four-star tackle Princeton Uwaifo, four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife, three-star linebacker JP Peace and three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield. The class is still young, though, and plenty more commitments are expected to trickle in over the next year.

While the Vols didn’t land a running back in the 2026 class, they still have plenty of young talent on the roster. Incoming Tulane transfer Javin Gordon and returners Daune Morris and Justin Baker are all entering just their second season of college.
