Tennessee football is bringing in one of the top quarterback recruits in the country this 2026 cycle. Already signed and early enrolled, Faizon Brandon clocked in as the No. 3 player and quarterback in the class in 247’s final rankings.
While Rivals was much lower on him, slotting him as a four-star, Charles Power of the recruiting service still sees why he’s considered one of the best quarterbacks in the class. In his list of superlatives for the quarterbacks in the class, he dubbed Brandon as the one with the ‘most upside’.
Other accolades that didn’t go to Brandon were strongest arm, best senior season, most accurate, best mechanics, biggest gunslinger, most athletic and multi-sport star.

More From RTI: Important Date In Joey Aguilar Eligibility Case Officially Set
Brandon is now getting integrated into the team through winter workouts. While Joey Aguilar fights for an additional year of eligibility, if he is unable to return, it will be a quarterback battle between Brandon, George MacIntyre and Colorado transfer Ryan Staub.
“Recruiting process started a long time ago,” Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said on Brandon during ‘The Mike Keith Show’. “Saw the video of him as a young starter, got him on campus, having a camp day with him. His ability to throw the ball with power, with accuracy. His ability to have touch on the football when it’s time to do that. He’s got the athleticism to extend and make plays as a scrambler. He’s a scramble-to-throw guy first, but man, when he does tuck it, he’s got the ability to be a weapon and pick up massive yards with his feet.
“His ability in the run game to control edges, control pressures a huge part of it. He’s quick-minded. Processes things extremely quickly and then you take into account who he is, his maturity, how he interacts and engages with his teammates. That’s really important in that position that you’re fitting in culturally inside of our locker room and helping us grow into what we need to be. So couldn’t be more excited to have him and his family a part of Rocky Top.”
Brandon is a key piece in an elite signing class for Tennessee, as well. He is one of three five-stars on 247, joining wide receiver TK Keys and offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda. The group ranks No. 4 in the country on 247.
