VFLs Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton III spent a lot of time working together while playing football for Tennessee. The former roommates and teammates have always had a storied bond and friendship… so what happens when the two are pitted against each other in direct competition?
Are underhanded tactics dished out? Do tempers flare? Are government names used? In the name of competition, the answer to all three is yes.
Hooker and Milton were recently featured in a social media video from Snapback Trivia on Wednesday. The former Vols competed alongside host Casey in a battle of naming former Tennessee football players with only their pictures. Some of the players shown are from Hooker and Milton’s own rosters at Tennessee, while others are from before their time.

Milton is currently the backup quarterback to Dak Prescott on the Dallas Cowboys’ roster. Hooker, meanwhile, spent time on the practice squads for the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets during the 2025 season. He was promoted to the Jets’ active roster to close down the season.
Both players were instrumental in Josh Heupel’s first few seasons at Tennessee. Hooker led the prolific offense in 2021 and 2022, with memorable wins against Alabama and Florida under his belt. Milton took over for Hooker during the 2023 season and began his journey with an Orange Bowl victory and bowl MVP title to finish off the 2022 season.
