
No. 22 Tennessee fell to Missouri by a score of 73-69 on Tuesday night in Columbia, pushing the Vols to a 20-8 record with three games remaining in the regular season. The Vols will return to action against Alabama this weekend, and then close out the final week with games against South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
Tennessee came out of the gates strong, but Missouri fought back. It wasn’t particularly a masterclass of offense by either team in the first half, with Tennessee leading 29-26 heading into the break. The Tigers found their scoring in the second half, though, putting up 47 points in the final 20 minutes. Missouri had 23 points off Tennessee’s 15 turnovers, while T.O. Barrett and Mark Mitchell combined for 51 points on the night.
Tennessee had five total scorers on the night: Ja’Kobi Gillespie had 19 points, Nate Ament had 17, Felix Okpara had 15, and Bishop Boswell had 13. Jaylen Carey went scoreless on his three attempts, but did pull down 10 rebounds.
