Lady Vols basketball is set to begin the SEC Tournament on Thursday, but not without additional drama. Fifth-year senior guard Kaiya Wynn announced her departure from the program on Tuesday after her displeasure with how the staff handled Senior Day.

Ahead of the trip to Greenville, S.C. for the SEC Tournament, Tennessee head coach Kim Caldwell met with the media to give her thoughts on Wynn’s departure, the upcoming SEC Tournament, comments from Athletic Director Danny White and more.

“I haven’t really dove into the public conversation about it,” Caldwell said about Wynn. “We’ll miss her. She was loved in this program. Again, we respect her decision, but we kind of have to turn the page and focus on the SEC Tournament.”

The Lady Vols will open their SEC Tournament run on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. ET in Greenville, S.C. Tennessee, the 6-seed, will play the winner between 11-seed Alabama and 14-seed Missouri.
