Two Tennessee basketball guards are on the Friday night injury report ahead of the Vols’ rivalry matchup against Vanderbilt. Both starting shooting guard Bishop Boswell and backup combo guard Troy Henderson are “probable” for the regular season finale.
Boswell is battling illness and did not participate in Friday’s practice open to the media. The sophomore guard was at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center but sat in the stands and only watched. Troy Henderson is battling the same left shoulder injury that has plagued him all season.
Tennessee star Nate Ament is doubtful with the high ankle sprain that sidelined him earlier this week in the Vols’ win at South Carolina.
Boswell has started 26 games for Tennessee this season and is averaging 6.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 26.1 minutes per game this season. He missed three games earlier this season with a right foot injury but has otherwise remained healthy and available for Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard was crucial in Tennessee’s 69-65 win at Vanderbilt two weeks ago, scoring back-to-back late game buckets to turn a three-point Volunteer deficit into a one-point lead.
Henderson’s role has been more inconsistent this season. He’s played in 18 total games and is averaging 1.9 points and 1.2 assists in 7.7 minutes per game. In SEC play, Henderson has played in 12 of 17 games where he’s mostly competed for backup combo guard minutes with Ethan Burg.
With a win over Vanderbilt, Tennessee will earn the four-seed and the double-bye in next week’s SEC Tournament. A loss would have the Vols anywhere between a five and a seven-seed in next week’s tournament.
Tennessee is currently 4.5-point favorites over Vanderbilt according to the DKSportsbook. KenPom predicts Tennessee to earn a 76-72 victory over the Commodores. Tipoff between the Vols and Commodores is at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon. Matt Schumacker and Richard Hendrix are on the call for ESPN.
