Tennessee Football added a dynamic duo to its roster through the 2026 recruiting class with five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon and five-star wide receiver Tristen “TK” Keys. The two players ranked as the top prospects in the Vols’ 2026 signing class, and they’re two massive gems from the cycle. Whether it’s this season or in the future, it’s hard to put a ceiling on what the two players can be both individually and together.
“It’s been pretty cool,” Brandon said on Tuesday about getting to share the field with Keys after going through their recruitment together. “We’re both learning the offense. Seeing him every day after only seeing him in a few visits and stuff like that, it’s pretty cool. Me and I, I would say our bond has gotten stronger than when we were recruits.”
Keys echoes the same sentiment about finally being able to fit the ground running together on the field.
“It’s been great,” Keys said about working with Brandon on Thursday. “Me and Faizon had a great relationship in high school, meeting each other from different recruitment events. So yeah. Me and Faizon? That’s my dawg. Hang with him about every day. We go over stuff. We’ll come and get a little extra work. Him throwing me the ball, just getting that feel and still being able to see the ball, catch the ball.”

Both players have quickly been entrenched in position battles after being on campus for just a few weeks. Brandon is competing with George MacIntyre and Ryan Staub for the starting quarterback position, while Keys is one of three players looking to grab the third starting receiver spot. The other two in that race are redshirt freshmen Travis Smith Jr. and Radarious Jackson.
There are still plenty of unknowns about the role for both players coming up this fall. Perhaps both can work their way into the lineup to some degree, or maybe they’ll just wait their turn for another season. Either way, though, Keys and Brandon project to be two incredibly impactful players in the near future.
“He’s a guy that right when you see him, you can tell he’s got a natural skill set,” Tennessee OC Joey Halzle said of Keys on Tuesday. “He’s got all the tangibles that you want, and he’s just like any young guy that is coming in. He’s extremely talented. He makes plays. You just gotta work the mental side of it to where we can trust him to be where we want to be, and he’s working his butt off to do it. He’s done a great job.”
Tennessee wrapped up its third practice of the spring camp slate on Thursday morning. The Vols will continue with a handful more practices over the next few weeks, leading into the Orange & White Game on Saturday, April 11, in Neyland Stadium.
