Tennessee Basketball is moving on to the Round of 32 after an opening NCAA Tournament win over 11-seed Miami (OH) on Friday night in Philadelphia. The Vols withstood a quick burst from the RedHawks to start the game, but it was all Tennessee after that. The Vols racked up a big lead on the night and never looked back as they kept Miami back.

Tennessee guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie was the engine for the Vols’ scoring on Friday. He had 29 points and nine assists while continuing to provide Tennessee with some huge buckets. He started the game 6-of-7 from three-point range and finished 11-of-21 from the field overall. Vols forward JP Estrella also had a big night, with a 14-point/10-rebound double-double in the tournament game.

Tennessee will now advance to the second round to face 3-seed Virginia on Sunday.
