Six-seed Tennessee and three-seed Virginia will battle it out on Sunday evening in a Round of 32 NCAA Tournament matchup from Philadelphia. The winner will have earned the right to advance to the Sweet 16 and continue playing next weekend in Chicago, IL.
Tennessee got to the second round by thrashing potential Cinderella story Miami (OH) on Friday afternoon. Ja’Kobi Gillespie’s 29 points and nine assists led the way for the Vols’ dominant victory. Virginia, on the other hand, reached the second round by defeating 14-seed Wright State on Friday. It wasn’t a blowout victory from the Cavaliers, but they did enough to get to the finish line without sweating too much.
Sunday’s game between the Vols and Cavs should prove to be an exciting one from Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Ahead of the matchup, both Tennessee and Virginia held press conference interviews on Saturday.
