Tennessee football has positioned itself in a good spot to land another elite recruit on the offensive line. Four-star tackle Brian Swanson named the Vols inside his top eight, alongside Texas, LSU, Ohio State, SMU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Arizona State, according to Rivals.
Swanson is considered the No. 122 player in the class, according to 247. He is the No. 17 offensive tackle and No. 16 player out of the state of Texas.
Standing at 6-foot-5.5, 315 pounds, he is from Dallas, Texas. He plays for South Oak Cliff.

247 just evaluated Swanson, as well. On March 17, Gabe Brooks gave his thoughts.
“Big-framed offensive lineman with experience at tackle and guard who could potentially play either in college,” Brooks wrote. “Above average functional athlete who, in pads, outperforms testing numbers. Strong hands that send smaller targets flying even on limited contact. Looks to finish as a drive blocker and can flash some nastiness. Hunts extra work when it’s available, including downfield on breakaways. Can get upright and narrow his presence at times. Potential high-major multi-year starter who brings valuable roster flexibility. Simultaneously high-floor and high-ceiling given what he’s proven through junior year and the physical specs.”
Tennessee is off to a strong start in the 2027 cycle. So far, UT has landed four commitments in the class. The Vols boast four-star offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo as the headliner, with four-star Kadin Fife also in the boat. However, Fife is apparently back in the evaluation process after defensive staff changes.
Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker and legacy linebacker JP Peace are also committed. More commitments are expected to roll in throughout the offseason as the class heats up, though.
