Things got hairy for Tennessee baseball in its midweek clash vs. USC Upstate, but the Vols survived in Lindsey Nelson Stadium, 4-2. That was thanks to a Blake Grimmer home run in the bottom of the ninth with two outs to walk it off and provide the win.

The Vols gave up an early 1-0 lead to the Spartans, which stood until the bottom of the seventh inning. In that frame, Blaine Brown dropped a single into right-center, which scored two and gave Tennessee a one-run advantage.

However, USC Upstate responded with a run of its own in the ninth inning to tie the game. That just made way for Grimmer to lift his home run to seal the victory, though. Brayden Krenzel was given the win for his pitching to get out of the jam in the ninth, as well.
