
Tennessee Basketball’s 2025-2026 season came to a close on Sunday afternoon in Chicago with a lopsided 95-62 loss to 1-seed Michigan in the United Center. Tennessee and Michigan traded punches throughout the first eight minutes of the contest, but the Vols’ wheels fell off during a 21-0 run from the Wolverines. Michigan wound up going on a 34-10 run into the halftime break and Tennessee was never able to recover.
Tennessee’s final postseason run ends with a win over 11-seed Miami (OH) in the first round, a win over 3-seed Virginia in the second round, a win over 2-seed Iowa State in the Sweet 16, and a loss to 1-seed Michigan in the Elite Eight.
After the game, Tennessee held a postgame press conference in the United Center as Michigan cut down the nets. Tennessee’s group featured head coach Rick Barnes, guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie, guard Grant Hurst, and center Felix Okpara.
