On Tuesday afternoon, Tennessee football welcomed back its graduating class of players for its annual Pro Day. Draft-eligible Vols took to the practice facility to show off their skillset in front of scouts across the NFL.
This included UT quarterback Joey Aguilar. Coming off his lone season with Tennessee, he was not granted a preliminary injunction for an additional season and is turning pro. Despite dealing with the recovery from a procedure to deal with a tumor in his shoulder, Aguilar threw to receivers on a windy day.
“Felt good,” Aguilar said afterward. “You know, I’m still super early in my throwing rehab. I just finished week four of like a 10-12 week process. So I wanted to go out there, show the teams that I’m healing pretty fast and I can still sling the rock. A little injured right now, but I’ll be healthy by the time the team picks me up. I just want to show them I still got it.”
Along with other players not from UT looking to get on the radar of NFL scouts, Aguilar threw to familiar connections wide receiver Chris Brazzell and running back Star Thomas.
