Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel spoke to the media on Thursday morning following the Vols’ second spring scrimmage earlier in the morning. The Vols took to the field in Neyland Stadium and we’re off to the races with only a handful more workouts until the Orange & White spring game on April 11.
During his nine-minute press conference, Heupel hit on a number of key topics. He spoke about the structure of spring practice and the differences between the first and second scrimmages, along with personnel details such as the play of five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon and the impact of transfer EDGE rusher Chaz Coleman.
“Scrimmage number two, I thought defensively did a really good job in the early part of the scrimmage,” Heupel said to open his press conference. “Assignment sound, being in the right position and then getting off the field on third down. And second half of the scrimmage offense put a couple of plays together. All in all, really good work and a lot left for us here as we head into our last week of spring ball.”
