
Loyola (Chicago) transfer center Miles Rubin is visiting Tennessee basketball this weekend, Volquest’s Mike Wilson first reported Wednesday night and a source confirmed to RTI Thursday morning. Rubin is one of two players scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend along with Cal guard Dai Dai Ames.
A 6-foot-10, 220-pound center, Rubin averaged 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 blocks per game as a junior for the Ramblers. He shot a career-worst 58.5% from the field and 54.3% from the free throw line.
Rubin posted a strong 20.2% defensive rebound rate and 8.0% offensive rebound rate last season with Loyola. His 9.4% block rate ranked 20th nationally.
The versatile center spent each of the first three years of his career at Loyola (Chicago), steadily building a bigger-and-bigger role.

Rubin ranks as a four-star and the No. 74 player in the transfer portal according to 247sports. On3 ranks Rubin as a four-star and the No. 72 player in the portal while EvanMiya ranks Rubin as a four-star and the No. 48 player in the portal.
Tennessee badly needs to add inside help this offseason after losing Felix Okpara to graduation and J.P. Estrella, Cade Phillips and Jaylen Carey to the transfer portal. As things currently stand, rising sophomore DeWayne Brown is the only returning big man on the Vols’ roster.
Six Tennessee players have entered the transfer portal this offseason with Clarence Massamba, Bishop Boswell and Amari Evans joining the three big men.
Brown and freshman guard Troy Henderson have both announced intentions to return to Tennessee next season while Ethan Burg has made not indications on his future plans. Neither is the case for freshman Nate Ament who seems likely to declare for the 2026 NBA Draft but could opt to return.
As things currently stand, Tennessee has seven scholarships to work with as it feels out its roster for the 2026-27 season.
