
Four-star running back Tre Segarra released his top five including Tennessee football on Friday morning. Segarra is down to a top group that includes Indiana, Penn State, South Carolina, Stanford and Tennessee according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Seggara ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 143 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 7 running back and the No. 3 prospect in the state of South Carolina in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
A Duncan, South Carolina native, Seggara has scheduled official visits to four of his top five schools. He plans on visiting Tennessee on June with visits scheduled to Indiana and Stanford in May as well as South Carolina the week after his trip to Tennessee. Penn State is the only school in his top group that he has yet to schedule a official visit with.

Seggara had a standout junior season Byrnes High School where he rushed for 1,460 yards and 14 touchdowns on 174 carries. He also caught 19 passes for 198 yards and four touchdowns.
Tennessee football badly needs to add a running back in the 2027 recruiting cycle after not signing a running back in the 2026 cycle. The Vols have heavily targeted five-star Chattanooga running back David Gabriel Georges in the 2027 cycle but are also targeting other running backs including Seggara.
The Vols have landed six commitments to date in their 2026 cycle but have yet to land a commitment from a running back. Tennessee made a major splash two weeks ago when they landed four-star receiver Kesean Bowman.
Tennessee’s 2027 recruiting class currently ranks No. 18 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
