A few days after recording a career-high 31 points in a loss against the New Orleans Pelicans, former Tennessee point guard Kennedy Chandler turned in another strong performance. This time, Chandler did it against his hometown Memphis Grizzlies.
Chandler scored 26 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field while adding 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals as the Utah Jazz defeated the Grizzlies 147-101.
The former Tennessee point guard wasn’t the only Vol who turned in a strong performance in the win. Former Tennessee guard Jahmai Mashack totaled his first career triple double in the game, totaling 13 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists while playing all 48 minutes. In fact, it was a quadruple double with Mashack totaling 10 turnovers.
Chandler is getting his first extended run in the NBA this season, in part because of the Utah Jazz tanking efforts. However, the 5-foot-11 point guard is making the most of his opportunity.
