Tennessee football is one of the four schools remaining for a top running back recruit in the 2027 class. David Gabriel Georges named the Vols, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Georgia as the four schools he is focusing on going forward, according to a report from Hayes Fawcett.

Gabriel Georges currently plays for Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. However, he’s originally from Quebec, Canada. The proximity to his current home in the United States is certainly a leg up for the Vols, though.

According to 247 Composite, Gabriel Georges is the No. 10 overall recruit in the 2027 cycle and a five-star prospect. He is the No. 2 running back in the nation and the top recruit in the state of Tennessee.

“Hard-driving running back with the quickness and power to emerge as the centerpiece of an offense for a College Football Playoff contender,” 247 director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Already owns ready-to-play bulk as he tips the scales at just over 205 pounds and uses that weight to his advantage as he sheds tackles and bounces off contact. Quick out the chute with his acceleration as he picks a lane and motors forwards. Reads blocks well, but can change course in the snap of a finger and get out of trouble.”

Currently, Tennessee holds six commitments in the 2027 class. This features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.

Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler and in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace. Currently, this group is ranked inside the top-15 on both 247 and Rivals for the young 2027 cycle. More commitments are expected to roll in, as well.
