Tennessee Football’s pursuit of an in-state offensive prospect looks like it’ll be heating up in the near future. According to a report from Rivals’ Chad Simmons, West Tennessee running back Asa Barnes has narrowed his list of finalists to four schools and has set up official visits with each one of them.

Barnes will visit Arkansas on May 29, Kentucky on June 5, and Southern Cal on June 12. Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers will get the final official visit on June 19 in Knoxville.

The six-foot running back plays for Westview High School in Martin, TN. Rivals’ Industry Rankings have the three-star prospect tagged as the No. 468 player in the class, the No. 36 running back in the cycle, and the No. 18 player from the Volunteer State.

Tennessee running backs coach De’Rail Sims is listed as the Vols’ primary recruiter in Barnes’ recruitment. According to Rivals’ Recruiting Prediction Machine, Sims and the Vols lead the way for Barnes at 41.8%, followed by Kentucky at 24.8%.
