Tennessee athletics’ Big Orange Caravan rolled from Chattanooga to Nashville Wednesday as Josh Heupel, Danny White, Rick Barnes and Kim Caldwell meet with Volunteer fans across the state.
Barnes was late arriving to Wednesday night’s event in Nashville. But Barnes had a good reason to be late, White shared with Brent Dougherty and Ron Slay of 3HL on 104.5 The Zone.
“He’s out recruiting,” White said. “He’s building a roster.”
The Vols currently have three scholarships remaining as they build their roster for next season. Barnes was out in California visiting with star Wake Forest transfer Juke Harris. Harris remains the biggest target for Barnes and his staff as they fill out the roster for next season.
Harris is coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 21.4 points on 44.4% shooting from the field and 33.3% shooting from three-point range at Wake Forest. The Salisbury, North Carolina native made 87 three-pointers during the 2025-26 season.

Tennessee is battling both defending national champion Michigan and home state North Carolina for the 6-foot-7 guard’s services. Harris earned ACC Most Improved Player and Second Team All-ACC honors a season ago.
The Vols have gone through a near complete overhaul of its roster to this point in the offseason. The Vols lost six players to either graduation or professional basketball and six players to the transfer portal.
Tennessee’s only returning scholarship players are combo guard Troy Henderson and center DeWayne Brown.
Rick Barnes and his staff have added six transfers to their roster to date including VCU combo guard Terrence Hill Jr, Cal combo guard Dai Dai Ames, Belmont sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade, Notre Dame wing Jalen Haralson, Kennesaw State forward Braedan Lue and Loyola (Chicago) center Miles Rubin.
Tennessee has also signed four high school prospects in four-star forward Chris Washington Jr, four-star wing Ralph Scott, four-star guard Manny Green and three-star point guard Marquis Clark
