
Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes and members of the Vols’ coaching staff visited star Wake Forest transfer in California Wednesday, Volquest’s Mike Wilson first reported and a source confirmed to RTI on Wednesday night.
It was a busy 24 hours for Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes. The veteran head coach was in Chattanooga Tuesday night for the Big Orange Caravan before traveling to California to meet with Harris on Wednesday. Barnes then traveled to Nashville for the Wednesday night Big Orange Caravan stop.
Tennessee Director of Athletics Danny White teased Barnes’ whereabouts when the the Vols’ veteran basketball coach was late to the event.
“He’s out recruiting,” White said. “He’s building a roster.”
Harris is Tennessee’s top remaining target in the transfer portal to date. A Salisbury, North Carolina native who played at Wake Forest last season, Harris is out in California this spring as he goes through the NBA Draft process.
The 6-foot-7 wing visited Michigan the weekend following the Final Four and then hosted both Tennessee and North Carolina coaches for in-home visits in North Carolina after her returned from Michigan.

Harris projects as either a late first round or early second round pick in this summer’s NBA Draft with multiple sources telling RTI that they believe Harris will remove his name from the NBA Draft and return to college for his junior season.
Harris is coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 21.4 points on 44.4% shooting from the field and 33.3% shooting from three-point range. He made 87 three-pointers during the 2025-26 season.
The Salisbury, North Carolina native earned ACC Most Improved Player and Second Team All-ACC honors a season ago.
Barnes and his staff have added six transfers to their roster to date including VCU combo guard Terrence Hill Jr, Cal combo guard Dai Dai Ames, Belmont sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade, Notre Dame wing Jalen Haralson, Kennesaw State forward Braedan Lue and Loyola (Chicago) center Miles Rubin.
Tennessee has three scholarships remaining as it builds its roster for next season with Harris being the Vols’ biggest remaining target.
