Tennessee softball’s 2026 SEC Tournament run was brief. On Wednesday evening, the 5-seed Lady Vols lost in the second round of the event to 13-seed Ole Miss, 4-1. This was UT’s first appearance in this year’s version of the tournament after earning a single bye.
Tennessee took an early lead in the game thanks to an Elsa Morrison single, strong base running and a Bella Faw two-out single. However, that’s all the offense gave the Lady Vols. UT recorded just four hits in the game and the one run.
In the circle, Sage Mardjetko got the start and performed well. Two runs crossed that got pinned to her, but neither was earned after a fielding error at second by Ella Dodge. Karlyn Pickens took over afterward and let two earned runs score, though proper officiating on a check swing would’ve gotten Tennessee out of the inning if called correctly.
After the game, Lady Vols head coach Karen Weekly and Faw took to the podium to meet with the media.
