Former Tennessee fan-favorite wide receiver has found a new home in the NFC. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Thursday night that Jennings is signing with the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North after several years with the San Francisco 49ers. The deal is for one year and is worth up to $13 million.
Jennings’ addition to the Vikings now bolsters a strong Minnesota passing attack. The Vikings signed quarterback Kyler Murray earlier in free agency, and will now pair Jennings alongside Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Minnesota also has TJ Hockenson at the tight end position.
Jennings’ signing with the Vikings comes after a two-day visit with Minnesota at their home facility last week. He met with Vikings brass and both sides seemingly came away with a strong feeling, getting the deal inked just over a week later.
After tallying just 78 catches in his first three seasons, Jennings broke through in 2024 with the Niners battling injuries to the pass-catching unit. He caught 77 passes for 975 yards and six touchdowns, which were all career highs at the time. Jennings battled a bevy of injuries himself leading into and during the 2025 season, but managed to play through them and caught 55 passes for 643 yards and a new career-high nine touchdowns.

Jennings is also the first non-QB to throw for two passing touchdowns during the NFL postseason since the merger. His first postseason touchdown pass came in the 2024 Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs, and his most recent one came just over a month ago in the 49ers’ NFC Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jennings has never been shy to toughness, both on and off the field. Whether he’s battling through injury or smack-talking defenders of every size across the league, he’s been widely known as one of the more fierce competitors in the National Football League for years.
There will be a return to San Francisco this season, though. While we don’t know the exact date, we do know that Jennings and the Vikings will square off against the Niners in San Francisco at some point during the 2026 football season.
