Tennessee football is after one of the top recruits in the 2027 class. In-state prospect David Gabriel Georges has set a commitment date of July 22 and is considering the Vols alongside Ohio State, Georgia and Ole Miss.
After the announcement that his commitment date is set, Gabriel Georges appeared at practice at Baylor School sporting Tennessee gloves. Stephen Hargis captured the photo and joked that nobody will read too much into the attire choice.
Gabriel Georges is a five-star prospect, according to 247 Composite. The site lists him as the No. 10 recruit in the class, No. 2 running back and top player from the state of Tennessee. However, while he plays in the Volunteer State right now, he’s initially from Quebec.
If there’s one thing I’m certain of it’s that absolutely no one will read too much into the fact that DGG is wearing orange and white Power-T gloves at practice today 🤣 pic.twitter.com/iL0GVroEF8

247 also lists official visits for each of his finalists. This includes Ohio State on May 29, Tennessee on June 5, Ole Miss on June 12 and Georgia on June 19. Then, he’ll have a month to sit on it and consider which school he wants to attend.
Currently, Tennessee holds seven commitments in the 2027 class. This features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.
Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace and defensive back Carter Jamison. Currently, this group is ranked inside the top-25 on both 247 and Rivals for the 2027 cycle.
