The Tennessee Volunteers had five players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft last month in Pittsburgh. Tennessee saw four defensive players and one offensive player taken during the seven-round event, with a handful more players signing undrafted free agent contracts for camps this summer.
With rookie minicamp practices underway, we now know what numbers that each of the five VFLs will be wearing this summer. The current number isn’t a guarantee of what they’ll be wearing during the regular season, though.
Here’s a look:
New York Giants CB Colton Hood – No. 12 (No. 8 at UT)
Carolina Panthers WR Chris Brazzell – No. 19 (No. 17 at UT)
Las Vegas Raiders CB Jermod McCoy – No. 28 (No. 3 at UT)
Washington Commanders EDGE Joshua Josephs – No. 48 (No. 19 at UT)
Detroit Lions DL Tyre West – No. 52 (No. 42 at UT)

Thursday night is a big night for the NFL world with the official schedule release event. This means that, in addition to all the other former Vols scattered throughout the league, we’ll find out what each of these five players’ schedules looks like for their rookie seasons in the NFL.
We do know a couple of games already, though. For one, former UT cornerback Colton Hood will be under the first Sunday Night Football spotlight as the New York Giants host the Dallas Cowboys during the first week of the season. We also know that Josephs and West will both take part in international games, with the Commanders in London in Week 4 and the Lions playing in Germany in Week 10.
Josephs will also be returning to the Volunteer State at some point this season as the Tennessee Titans are slated to host the Washington Commanders. We’ll find out exactly when that return will take place on Thursday night.
Stay tuned to Rocky Top Insider for more Tennessee/NFL coverage.
