
Tennessee baseball’s Friday night matchup against Oklahoma is in a weather delay due to lighting within eight miles of Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The game entered the weather delay at 9:49 p.m. ET. A weather delay lasts for at least 30 minutes with the clock restarting with every new lightning strike.
After a 50 minute delay, the game is officially on pause for the night. The game will resume at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
The Vols lead Oklahoma 5-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning at the time of the weather delay. Oklahoma has a runner on first with one-out. Freshman left-handed pitcher Will Haas entered the game to begin the seventh inning.

The Sooners jumped out to an early three-run lead after their first five baserunners reached against Evan Blanco. But Blanco settled in from there, allowing just those three runs on four hits and four walks in six innings pitched.

Just like they did in game one of the series, Tennessee hit around and took the lead by scoring four runs in the third inning. Manny Marin drove in a run with a triple, Jay Abernathy drove him a run with an infield single and Trent Grindlinger drove in two runs with a two-out opposite field single. The Vols then added a run in the fifth inning thanks to an Oklahoma fielding error.
Tennessee took the series opener on Thursday night 9-7 after overcoming an early 3-0 lead. Tegan Kuhns was not at his best but worked into the middle innings and his offense picked him up.
The Vols are looking to clinch the weekend series and improve to 15-14 in SEC play in Friday night’s matchup against the Sooners.
