The Volunteer State looks nearly set to host the Super Bowl in the next few years. According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo on Monday, NFL owners will vote for the host city during league spring meetings on Tuesday. The expectation is that the big game will be headed to the Music City in 2030.

The Super Bowl going to Nashville makes all the sense in the world, and feels like an inevitable situation with the construction of the new Nissan Stadium. The Titans’ new stadium will be a massive engineering spectacle and is currently being built right next to the old/current Nissan Stadium.

According to the Titans, the new stadium reached 75% completion at the end of March 2026. The official website states that an average of 2,000 workers a day have been making progress on the new stadium. The layout is approximately 2.1 million square feet and is reportedly on track to be opened for the Titans’ 2027 season, according to the NFL. The project first broke ground in February 2024.

The new-and-improved Nissan Stadium will likely host several non-NFL major sporting events in the future, including the College Football Playoffs, the NCAA Tournament, college football bowl games, WWE WrestleMania, UFC stadium shows, and many more. But none is as big as the first Super Bowl to take place in the Volunteer State.

Perhaps a former Tennessee Volunteer will be on one of the rosters playing in the Super Bowl when it comes to Nashville. We’ll just have to wait and see. This past Super Bowl saw both Joshua Dobbs (Patriots) and Velus Jones Jr. (Seahawks) rostered for the big game.

The Super Bowl has never been held in the state of Tennessee. It’s seen plenty of appearances with the Volunteer State’s southeastern neighbors, such as Georgia, Florida, and Louisiana, but it’s never been in Tennessee.
