
Tennessee Baseball will be the 2-seed in the Chapel Hill Regional during the opening round of the NCAA College Baseball tournament this weekend. North Carolina, the No. 5 overall team and the host team for the weekend, headlines the region as the 1-seed. Additionally, East Carolina lands as the 3-seed and VCU comes in as the 4-seed.
The Volunteers will open up their weekend slate against 3-seed ECU on Friday at Noon ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU. The Tar Heels and the Rams will then square off at 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

The winner of the Chapel Hill Regional will take on the winner of the College Station Regional in the Super Regional round. The College Station Regional teams include 1-seed Texas A&M, 2-seed Southern Cal, 3-seed Texas State, and 4-seed Lamar.
This is the 16th NCAA Tournament appearance for the Volunteers and the program’s seventh-straight trip to the NCAA Regional round. It’s an ongoing program-record streak that dates back to the 2019 NCAA Regionals, which also took place in Chapel Hill.
Tennessee enters the NCAA Tournament with a 38-20 overall record after last week’s 1-1 showing in the SEC Tournament in Hoover, AL. The Vols have SEC series wins against Missouri, Mississippi State, Alabama, Texas, and Oklahoma, and SEC series losses against Georgia, Vanderbilt, LSU, Ole Miss, and Kentucky. Tennessee finished the regular season strong, racking up series wins in three of its final four weekends.
