Tennessee softball has suffered its first loss to the transfer portal after its 2026 Women’s College World Series run. Outfielder Saviya Morgan is departing from the program after two seasons with the Lady Vols.
Morgan is a Tennessee native, hailing from Columbia and playing for Columbia Central. She hits and throws from the left side and stands at 5-foot-4. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.
This past season as a sophomore, Morgan appeared in 36 games and started in 10. She produced a .293 batting average with 10 runs, five RBI, two doubles and no home runs. As a freshman, she was a consistent piece of the batting order. In 62 games and 59 starts, she hit at a .340 clip with 48 runs, 14 RBI, four doubles, two triples and no homers.

More From RTI: Everything Karen Weekly, Tennessee Softball Said After Season-Ending Loss to Texas in WCWS
Tennessee’s entire typical starting batting order is eligible to return next year, including four outfielders. Over the course of the NCAA Tournament, center field was manned by Sophia Knight, right field by Gabby Leach and left field by Taelyn Holley and Alannah Leach.
The team ended up flaming out just a win short of going to the WCWS championship series, though, with the bats considerably cooling down on that final day.
“I’m really proud of our team, really proud of our team,” UT head coach Karen Weekly said after the game. “I think a lot of people counted us out, didn’t think we’d get here. We certainly had our ups and downs during the season. Then, when we got here, probably thought we wouldn’t make much noise, and we made a lot of noise.”
Morgan is the first Tennessee player to enter the transfer portal to this point. The only departing seniors are legendary pitcher Karlyn Pickens, backup infielder Camryn Sarvis and backup catcher Jackie Kirkpatrick.
