Tennessee football is entrenched in a big-time recruiting battle for the talents of five-star running back David Gabriel Georges. The elite running back is down to four schools, the Vols, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Georgia, but it appears UT and the Buckeyes are the most serious contenders.
Both Tennessee and Ohio State have their advantages and disadvantages for Gabriel Georges, who is scheduled to announce his decision in July. However, the Vols have a unique edge in the race for his talents. Tennessee currently rosters his former high school teammates at Baylor School in Chattanooga, five-star offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda and three-star defensive back Jamyan Theodore.
While Osenda and Theodore prepare for their freshman years, they were on campus for Gabriel Georges’ official visit to Tennessee this past weekend. This included a photo with the five-star running back while he tried on a UT uniform.

According to 247 Composite, Gabriel Georges is considered the No. 10 player in the class, No. 2 running back and top player from the state of Tennessee. Though initially from Quebec, he currently lives in Chattanooga, where he plays for Baylor School.
The back is coming off a visit to see Ohio State and Tennessee, but has two more visits planned. He will see Ole Miss and Georgia to finish his string of visits and ultimately decide on his school of choice.
After his visit to see OSU, multiple predictions came in in the favor of the Buckeyes. However, the Vols made a big move with their chance to host him and could have pulled back ahead.
Tennessee currently holds 13 commitments in the class of 2027. While it is yet to land a five-star, it does hold the commitment of four four-stars, including three from the Volunteer State.
