Tulane transfer outfielder Jason Wachs committed to LSU over Tennessee baseball and others on Sunday morning, he announced on Instagram.
Wachs is coming off a standout sophomore season at Tulane where he slashed .327/.453/.574 with nine home runs, 21 doubles and 54 RBIs. The Pembroke Pines, Florida native mostly started in right field during his sophomore season but is also capable of playing centerfield.
In 2025, Wachs landed on the American All-Freshman team after hitting .335 with two homers, 14 doubles and 25 RBIs for the Green Wave.
Wachs took an official visit to Tennessee last week before committing to the Tigers out of the portal.
Outfield remains a major priority for Tennessee this offseason. The Vols lost Reese Chapman to graduation, likely lose Garrett Wright to the MLB Draft and lost both Jay Abernathy and Nate Eisfelder to the transfer portal. Besides Blaine Brown, Tennessee will have to replace the rest of its outfield production from this past season.
